Dressing up for the races was taken to a whole new level by the Design and Arts College of New Zealand at Christchurch Cup Day this month. Makeup Design students JD Malendine and Shana King, along with Makeup Design Graduate and casual tutor Stacey Goodall, recently entered the Addington Raceway body art category with some stunning results.
First time participant JD put together an edgy, X-Men inspired creation which he titled “Mystique at the races” (second from the left).
Stacey, who also works as a makeup artist, painted her model using a butterfly theme with the overall creation inspired by the idea of feminine beauty (first on the left).
Shana’s contribution was a creative take on a Geisha lady with the white painted face, cherry blossoms and veil bringing it all together (first on the right).
Fantastic work from the D&A team! You can check out a video compilation here
