Every year, makeup supplier Wendy Hill organises the nationwide Wendy Hill Student Makeup Awards with participants invited from all beauty and makeup schools across the country. This year, student Freya Hylkema from the Elite International campus in Hamilton, took home a local award for her stunning entry in the Professional Photographic Bridal Makeup category.
Campus manager Donna O’Callaghan recognises Freyas achievement and the contribution of the Elite tutors to student success.
“As makeup artistry is not an area that Elite specifically focuses on, we are very proud that our students love to get so involved in the competitions that run throughout the year. With the constant support of our makeup suppliers and tutors, our campus regularly provides opportunities that give our students the chance to further develop their passions and talents.”
Freya, who is in the last six weeks of the Elite Diploma in Beauty Therapy, was put forward for participation in the national event after winning the inter-campus bridal competition and her tutor Gaius Alderton acknowledges what a great opportunity this was.
“The competition was a great way for our students to be able to measure their talent against a national standard. Each time we get involved in any competition, our students constantly exceed our expectations. Entering and exceling in competitions has introduced our students to some amazing contacts within the industry.”
A fantastic effort from Elite Hamilton.
