Some of you may be familiar with the name Ngani Laumape, but for those who aren’t, he’s a recent selection for the Hurricanes, but more importantly for us he’s a student at the New Zealand Institute of Sport.
Ngani kicked off his relationship with NZIS in 2011, studying at the Auckland campus while also making a name for himself as a Junior Warrior. After a successful year in both study and rugby, Ngani graduated with a qualification in Sports and Recreation.
He continued to excel in rugby and in 2013 he was selected to play for the NZ Warriors. After huge success in Rugby League, Ngani made a decision to switch back to the code he loved so much during his school days, and returned to Rugby Union in 2016.
Ngani has recently been signed to the Hurricanes where he is a regular starter, and he’s also chosen also to return to NZIS to further his studies in Personal Training at the Wellington Campus.
The CEO John Fiso and the NZIS family wish Ngani every success in both his sporting and education endeavours.
